1. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
In no case shall Driftless Dahlia Farm and Wonewoc Gardens, LLC, our offices, employees, agents, affiliates, suppliers, service providers, or licensors be liable for any injury, loss, claim or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special or consequential damages of any kind, including without limitations, lost profits, lost revenue, replacement costs, or any similar damages arising from your use of our products.
2. Tubers and tuber health.
All of our dahlias are grown on our farm. We do not import any dahlias. We utilize strict sanitation procedures at every step throughout the year. All snips and dividing tools are used on only one plant before being properly sanitized. To further minimize potential spread of diseases, we do not allow a pick-it-yourself flower service.
All of our tubers that are offered will have enough tuber and crown material to grow successfully. People who are newer to dahlias are often disappointed that some tubers they receive are small in size. This does not impact the growth of the dahlia plant. Over the years we have received tubers smaller than my pinky finger, and they grew just fine. However, none of the tubers we send are that small. In addition, some varieties produce very big and/or long tubers. It is a common practice to cut off a portion of the tuber to allow for safe shipping. This does not impair the growth of the plant, in fact most believe they grow better when smaller as the plants put more energy into establishing roots. In addition to be small or too big, some tubers are just ugly. They can have dents in them, be twisted, or have deep impressions from roots or other tubers. Again, this does not affect the growth of the tubers. Any problems with tubers should be brought to our attention within 24 hours.
Finally, we cannot control how our tubers are grown once they leave our farm. If you feel that there has been growth failure or signs of disease, please contact us through email within 30 days.
3. Virus. As may dahlia growers know, most dahlia plants in the US are infected with one of the many types of viruses that infect dahlia plants (equal to or greater than 90%). In Europe some studies found that 100 percent of the plants are infected. In most cases virus infected plants, if given proper growing conditions, will not show signs of infection. However, any plants on our farm that show any signs of active virus are promptly removed and disposed.
4. Gall. Leafy gall and crown gall are two bacterial infections found in dahlias. Neither of these can be treated and the plants must be disposed. At Driftless Dahlia Farm all plants and tubers are inspected prior to planting, during harvest, and following storage. Any plant or tuber that is suspicious for gall will be disposed.
5. Limits. Some dahlias are limited to one per family to ensure that more people can enjoy these harder to obtain dahlias. If multiples are ordered, they extras will be cancelled and refunded. Substitutions will not be done if we have a storage failure. Instead a refund will be provided.
6. Pricing. All prices are in U.S. Dollars. We do not sell any dahlias outside of the continental United States and Alaska.
